Iranian ‘Cinema Donkey’ to go to Cannes

‘Cinema Donkey’ has been set to premiere at the Film Market section of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.

Shahed Ahmadlou’s ‘Cinema Donkey’ has been set to premiere at the Film Market section of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.  

‘Cinema Donkey’ is a dark comedy that shows the untold truth behind connections in the world of filmmaking.

It narrates the story of a film crew who are working on a film project. They need a donkey for some of the scenes. This makes the group to face lots of events.

Ahmadlou, the director of the flick, has already had some of his works aired by ifilm. The series in talk are ‘The Honeymoon’ and ‘The Special Unit’. He also appeared in ‘Freedom’ as actor.

Puriya Shakibaee, the son of late great Iranian actor Khosro Shakibaee, is among the cast members of the flick.

The international poster for the film has been designed by Ehsan Barabadi. 7th Art Independent Distribution headed by Alireza Shahrokhi is in charge of international distribution of the film.

The Cannes Film Market is the business arm of the prestigious respective festival and one of the largest film markets in the world.

Established in 1959, it is held annually in conjunction with the festival in Cannes, France.

This edition of the French film market is slated for May 14-20, 2019.
